My Birthday Prayer

          Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for this day, I thank You for my being able to see, to hear and experience Your goodness everyday. I’m blessed because You are a forgiving , loving and an understanding God. Even though You have done so much for me but still You keep on blessing me. You sustain me with good health and you prosper me far beyond my imagination. I know I am forgiven for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you because Jesus had took everything on that cross; there is no condemnation.


Help me to start this Day with a new attitude and plenty of gratitude. Let me make the best of each and every day; to still my mind so that I can hear from You. Lord, help me broaden my mind and faith that I can accept all things You have planned for me. Bless me with Your wisdom and knowledge that I can share for Your glory. Let me not whine and whimper over things I have no control over. Please keep me safe from all danger and harm.
Be with me Lord to give the best response when I’m pushed beyond my limits. I know that when I can’t pray, You listen to my heart. Continue to use me to do Your will. Continue to bless me that I may be a blessing to others. Keep me strong that I may help the weak.

Keep me uplifted that I may have words of encouragement for others. I pray for those that are lost and can’t find their way. I pray for those that are misjudged and misunderstood. I pray for those who don’t know You intimately. I pray for those that don’t believe that one day they will see you personally and believe.

I believe You change people and change things for good for those who love You. I pray for all my sisters and brothers. For each and every family member in their households. I pray for peace, unity, love and joy in their homes that they are out of debt and all their needs are met with abundance. I pray that every eye that reads this knows there is no problem, circumstance, or situation greater than You, Lord Jesus. Every battle is in Your hands for You to fight.

I pray that these words be received into the hearts of everyone that sees this.

Remembering Borneo's Tarzan

OF all the locals who participated in the 1937 Johnsons movie "Borneo", one person stands out among the rest. With his good looks and well-chiseled body, Candiah Logan looked like he had stepped out of the comic strip of Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs.

In fact, Logan who later converted to Islam and took the name of Abdul Salam, looked every inch a Tarzan of the Bornean rainforest and those who knew him readily attest that he never shied from playing this part.

His son, Ahmad bin A.C. Logan, 53, said he was 12 when his dad related the story of the Johnsons film to him. That was in 1968.

He recounted his dad telling him how he "fought" with a crocodile in the film in which he acted as the Tarzan of Borneo. The film was shot in the Kinabatangan area, 17 years after the Johnsons' first visit in 1920.

"I remember him telling me about two beautiful ladies who were his 'heroines' in the film. One of them was called Geeli. Geeli sudah mati (she is dead). I don't know the name of the other lady," said Ahmad, referring to Feeli, a frizzy-haired maiden.

On how his father became involved in the Johnsons' movie as an actor, interpreter and guide, he said:

"He was good in both English and Malay. He could also speak local dialects like Hakka, Bajau and Suluk.

That is why when he went for an interview, they took him in as a head interpreter and an actor."

Ahmad also recalls his father telling him how good and kind-hearted couple Martin and Osa Johnson were.

"Tuan Martin sangat baiklah. Dia memang orang yang bagus, suka tolong orang kampung. Itu dia ceritalah (Martin was really a good person and liked to help the kampung people (villagers). That was what my father said.

"According to my Dad, Martin made a house over a raft that could be tugged along the Kinabatangan river.

"When I asked my dad how this couple came to Sandakan, he said they used their own airplane which could move over water. They had two or three crew members."

Apparently, Martin had promised the people in Kinabatangan that he would return to Sandakan with the film when it was ready to be screened in the cinema. Everyone involved was looking forward to viewing it, but it was not to be.

1937, about a year upon returning to the US, Martin died in a commercial plane crash while on his way to California to edit the "Borneo" film starring Logan, Geeli and Feeli, among others, that they made for Hollywood. Following the tragedy and with Osa (who was accompanying him in the plane) in a wheelchair for several months, the Hollywood producers decided to release the film with an entirely different script than that which was prepared by Martin.

According to Ahmad, Logan was very sad and disappointed at the tragic turn of events. "I believe my Dad had also hoped to be paid for his acting role on Martin Johnson's next visit."

"Saya sendiri pun tidak nampak itu filem. Mau tengok itu story, tapi apa boleh buatlah. Dengar khabar Martin sudah accident. Cakap pun tidak guna (I myself also did not see the film. I want to see the story but alas, we heard the news that Martin Johnson was involved in an accident. No use talking)."

At this point, Ahmad became emotional, overwhelmed by nostalgia.

"My father told me that he was devastated when he heard the bad news in 1937 that Martin died. He was very sad because there was no more hope of watching the film. He had also wondered whether the film was also destroyed in the tragedy.

"Why isn't the film shown to the people of Sabah? We would be very proud to watch it. Is it still available for screening? Who is keeping it?" he queried.

"In bygone days, people were simple-minded and less demanding. I did ask my dad whether he was given any payment and he replied, 'Belum ada' (Not yet). That much I know. By right, they should have been given some kind of consolation for their contribution."

According to the Martin and Osa Johnson Museum, the Johnsons paid all cast members as well as helpers at that time. Of the three Borneo films that the Johnsons made, only the one titled "Borneo" is still available. Their first called Jungle Calling about wildlife and tribals in the Kinabatangan shot in 1920 was the world's first wildlife film and is not available in original copy but in footages while a travelogue called "Jungle Depths of Borneo" shot alongside the "Borneo" film is believed to have been lost in Martin's ill-fated crash]. According to Logan's red identity card, which was issued in 1974, he was born in 1914 and his home address was Jalan Labuk, Bt 2, Sandakan. But what is puzzling to his surviving children is that Putatan is stated as his birthplace.

"Dad never told us where he was born. Apa nama kampung, kami tidak tahu (what the name of the kampung is, we don't know). Neither did he ever relate how and when he came to be in Sandakan.

"The family always believed that he was born in Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and came to Sandakan when he was young. Tapi dia tidak pernah pulang ke Sri Lanka (But he never returned to Sri Lanka).

"I remember vividly that my dad had two siblings, an elder sister and a younger brother. I was about 10 to 12 when I met my aunty and uncle. My aunty died in Sandakan while my uncle had returned to Ceylon.

"Maybe my dad had a family in Putatan before he moved to SandakanÉwe really don't know.

"Could it be that my father was born in Putatan after his parents migrated from Ceylon and set foot on North Borneo (now Sabah)? If so, why is his identity card red in colour? Is it because my grandparents were from Ceylon so my Dad couldn't have a blue identity card? We are in the dark," Ahmad said.

In his reminiscences, Ahmad said his father once mentioned that he had also worked at the railway station. "But we don't know the period."

Describing his father as a serious person, Ahmad said the former rarely talked about his work as a policeman, except to say that the British treated him well.

He first served under the British Constabulary, and later had the rank of Inspector while in the Malaysian police force.

"Orang di Sandakan memang respect Logan (Indeed, people in Sandakan respect Logan." One of his father's village friends once told him that Logan had extraordinary strength.

"Dia orang kuat (He was strong). When our Landrover had a tyre puncture, he could lift the car up for us to change the tyre without having to use a jack."

Apparently, Logan once demonstrated his physical prowess by allowing the wheel of a vehicleto run over his chest.

"I am not sure when this took place - before or after the film shooting. I was told that he was not hurt at all. No bone was broken. The older generation in Sandakan would know about this episode."

When Ahmad was about 16 or 17, his father told him how proud he (Logan) was when while in service he was given the honour, among others, to lay the wreath at the memorial in front of the Sandakan balai polis.

"My Dad would do it during Merdeka Day and Hari Polis. When I was a youth, my father had a musical band where he played the violin. He was fond of P. Ramlee's lagu keroncong."

Going by his elder sister Noriah's birth in 1946, Ahmad reckoned that his dad must have married his mum (Rokiah binti Buntak) before or after the war. "But I have never seen their wedding photo," he said.

"My Dad then became a Muslim and adopted the name Abdul Salam."

He and wife Rose bt Abdullah, 52, have four children and three grandchildren. They are Riz Faizal, 31, Riz Rizal, 29, Fazilah, 25, and Mohd Arafat, 19

Student should bring their HP to school

Do you think that Cell Phones should be banned from schools? Cell phones these days are becoming very popular, especially with teenagers these days, whether they have walkie-talkies or are text messaging. Everyone wants a cell phone, like me. I believe cell phones should be allowed in schools.
Students should be allowed to bring their cell phones to school because you never know if your parents have an emergency or something important that your parents need to tell you. Like for example, let’s say that your mom is at the hospital and there is no one at your house. Your father or someone else needs to call you to tell you where you should go. Are your parents going to call the school? Do you think they are going to let you know that your father calls or let you talk with your father? Is the person who answers the phone going to let you know that your father called and what he said? That’s one of the reasons why students need to bring their cell phones to school.
Also, there could a school-wide, city-wide or even national emergency like, for example, 9\11\2001. Many parents were worried about their children. Students who had cell phones were calling their parents saying that they were OK at school. That’s why students should bring their cell phones to school, in a case of a school emergency.
We could find a way to solve this problem. One way is to turn of turn off the phone when you are in school, another reason is that parents should organize meeting between teachers and parents at schools. A third idea is that parents send letters to the mayor explaining the reasons why their students need to bring their cell phones to school of any kind of an emergency they need.
Students should be able to carry cell phones in school. Parents can easily reach their kids. Parents should organize meetings. They should also write letters to the mayor. It will change a lot because you will know where your children are at or if they are okay.

Start dari 21/6/09, sya join program pemantapan PM MMS untuk sesi Jul/Nov09. Program ini sebenarnya bertujuan utk memeantapkan lagi PM yg baru2 dilantik ( mcm sya ) utk bersedia mengerakan MMS semester ini.

bagi sya, ok la. sbb sya dpt belajar bnyk benda selain tidur di rumah mengeram telur. haha..

Kwn2 juga bertambah. jadi makin banyk la stud2 UiTM yg sya kenal. selain itu, hubungan dengan MPP dan PM lain juga bertambah.

Bagi sya, knp sa maw jadi PM adalah sbb sya maw TOP!! hahaha... inda la..

Kuala Lurah, Sempadan S'wak M'sia dan Negara Brunei D'slM

Dalam bulan mei tahun ni, masa sya bnyk habiskan bercuti ke Brunei. Ada apa di brunei ah?? nah.. ini la yg sya maw creta sama kamu yg mungkin slama ini blum kenal sepa c brunei 2..

Brunei ni bukan apa.. bukan anak org juga apa... Brunei merupakan negara yg kaya di mana kedudukannya terselindung di sebalik negara malaysia dan indonesia di dalam kepulauan Broneo. well, perjalanan sya dari papar ke brunei mengambil masa lebih kurang 5jam stengah mengunakan kenderaan darat. kelajuan yg dipandu my dad adalah average 120-140km/hr.

ok..trus ja sampai di limbang sarawak.. sebelum pos kawalan imgrn brunei ada satu tempat digelar KL.. bukan kuala lumpur tetapi KUALA LURAH. neh! di sini merupakan satu tempat yg tidak asing lagi di kalangan kaki2 logop yg dari brunei. klu kira2 dari rumah dad sya di bunut brunei p di kl ni 20 min ja sampai suda. ada apa di KL ni? Oklah. K.lurah ini adalah satu tempat di mana banyak gerai2 kecil beroperasi menjual dan membekal minuman beralkohol. bila sya sampai ni tempat sya tingu punya la bida ni grai..jual montoku kaini... sorry ah!! ko nampak ja gerai bida2 smua... tapi minuman yg dijual smuanya branded2.. apa ko maw? Tiger, Carlsberg, Stout, budwiser..mcm2 ada bir.. bukan setakat bir, liquer pun tida ketinggalan.. JD, chivas, vodka,XO, old parr.. mcm2 la.. lebih kurang stock dia dari labuan juga.

Ko buli beli minuman dan bawa masuk p brunei tapi ada had .. 1 org hanya dibenarkan membawa masuk 12 tin bir dan 2litre liker ja.. itu pun maw isi borang lpas tu minta cop sama kastam brunei lagi. buli bawa lebih dari tu.. tapi direct trus p lokap la..sama2 la ko sama2 2 polis brunei minum...hahaha..

satu perkara yg sya nda ble lupakan ialah makanan di sana smuanya ganjil2 yg jarang sy jumpa ada dijual.. mcm satay BABI, Kelawar masak kicap, Katak, belut, ular sawah.. banyak la... sya ada test juga la tapi bukan smua sbb sya gali, inda buli masuk p mulut mcm belut sama ular.. yai..inda la sya kali...haha... paling fav sya satay BABI.. original made by pinoy fr manila... haha..

apa2 pun ini merupakan negara luar pertama yg sya kunjungi.. mmg siok.. jln2 p tpt org..cari pengalaman dan luaskan pemandangan la kunu.. cuti sem depan suda rancang p Pilipin lagi... wah nda sabar2..sbb dingar2 2 tpt mmg best... bnyk chic...hehe.. ok la... dat all.. bye! GOD Bless!!

Tadau Tagazo Do Kaamatan 2009

Sambutan pesta kaamatan 2009 selama sebulan di negeri sabah akan bermula pada 1 mei ini... apa lagi.. smua yg berbangsa kadazandusun lah paling gumbira pada masa nih sbb dapat melogopkan diri sama dapat tingu ramai sumandak yg samit2 di hongkod nanti.. paling penting acara unduk ngadau..sepa lah paling cantik ah?? sama2 kita tunggu dan saksikan sendiri pada 31 mei nanti k.

Sebenarnya, post sya kali ni bukan apa.. cuma jika difikirkan, benda ni wajar kita jadikan sebagai satu medan untuk menyatupadukan rakyat selaras dengan usaha kerajaan mengukuhkan perpaduan rakyat berbilang kaum di negara ini.

Sememangnya, bagaimana wujudnya perayaan ini adalah kerana moyang kita ni jenis yg beersyukur. cubalah org2 skrg pun mcm tu. Perayaan Pesta Kaamata ini sememangnya mempunyai semangat yg besar. Semangat perayaan ini wajar difahami kerana ia mempunyai nilai positif yg dpt menyatupadukan rakyat. ( tapi mcm mana kalau pilipin yg kaC penuh sabah ) lol.

Gf buli la.. haha.. ni la kami smua..

Punya la mlm tu.. sya rasa sya la paling rugi... bgini baitu... 1st, kami bli 1 crack heniken & a btl vodka ja.. sbb kami ingat(kaum2 lelaki yg logop) yg ppuan tu inda minum.. minta share juga la skit2.. tau2...mlm 2 tiba2 tehapenning, ppuan2 pun tejoin ni.. inda lama minuman pun mcm mau habis suda ( habis la baitu ) trus kegantungan la smua2 kaki logop ni... tapi yg paling soi ni, kpala sya paning suda bah ++ penat lagi 1 hari bejalan... jadi dorang pun bwa p bli..jam brapa suda tu..mcm dkt2 pukul 1am suda mangkali tu.. sya sma brapa kwn stay la d blik ja ..sbb mlas maw kluar.. sambil2 tunggu sya p baring d katil... test2 tutup mata... nah! last2 tetidur...gelap smuanya!!

Bisuk dia, sya npk ada 1 botol vodka tambhan... punya la sya tetelan bihis! trus c titi bilang " nah tulah ko, urang berabis kaC bangun.. inda juga bangun".. dalam kpla sya.. mana la da dia kaC bangun...sah! sya tidur mati suda..brabis dia bilang ah..dia ada kaC bangun... ish2... punya la... inda pa la klu mcm tu...

Begitulaitu creta dia... bru sya ingat.. time2 maw pulang balik p sabah suda.. berabis la lagi kami menapau minuman... sya bwa brapa botol tu.. bnyk la... klu jumpa kastam compom kna duti!... nsib baik time mau naik feri tu adik c mike bah pula jaga ( As the Customs Officer ) . nah! siok kan ramai kwn...

hmm...hrp2 nxt time dpt buat lagi trip mcm tu... biar ringkas..skjap...tapi yg buli kna ingat sampai bila2 ni... apa2 pun Enjoy!! Aramai tii....
